The Los Angeles Dodgers have been performing well throughout the season and they’re currently NL West’s top team.

They’re currently MLB’s best when it comes to pitching with a 3.22 ERA. Their bullpen is led by Clayton Kershaw and Alex Wood. With a 12-2 record and 135 strikeouts, Kershaw’s (2.70 ERA, 0.91 WHIP) performance has been impressive. While Wood beat the San Diego Padres, 8-0, in their first match of July at Petco Park with 8 strikeouts in 6 innings.

With an AVG of .257, the Dodgers’ batting hasn’t been as good as their pitching. Their best batter Corey Seager has a relatively good stat line of .305/.404/.520 and .923 OPS. Another remarkable Dodgers batter is Cody Bellinger with 24 homers and 56 RBI. Despite their struggles in hitting, they are still capable of getting runs.
The Kansas City Royals haven’t been performing well this season, their defense is subpar and you’d be hard-pressed to side with them in outscoring the Dodgers’ defense. So, they might not be much of a challenge for NL West’s current best.
However, they will be facing the Arizona Diamond Backs who have a better offense with a .264 AVG, 758 hits and 432 runs and a defense that’s almost on par with the Dodgers’. The D-backs are currently 3 wins shy from catching up to Los Angeles. So, they might have the competitive drive to go up against the Dodgers and overthrow them as the kings of the NL West.
Projected wins: 3/6 for the Dodgers
