Oakland Athletics’ Kendall Graveman (2-2, 3.83 ERA) goes head to head against San Francisco Giants’ Ty Blach (6-7, 4.38 ERA) for their third game of the series at AT&T Park. Can the Athletics take another win or can the Giants defend their territory?

Coming back from a right shoulder strain, Graveman is ready to start for the Athletics once again and this time it’s against the Giants. His last game on May 19 was against the Boston Red Sox, when he gave up six hits, two runs and a homer, while getting five batters struck out in over six innings. Graveman hasn’t lost a home game yet (1-0, 2.63 ERA) but he isn’t good playing on the road (1-2, 5.09 ERA).

On the other hand, Blach has the record for the best ERA (4.38) in his team. For this month, he allowed 29 hits, 11 runs and a homer while striking out 15 batters in over 27 frames. Despite having more losses playing at home (3-4), he has a better ERA (3.88) defending AT&T Park than playing on the road (3-3, 5.06 ERA).

Moving on the batters’ side, Athletics’ Ryon Healy (.259/ .291/ .467, .758 OPS) has the best batting average against lefties (.383) in his team. In his last series against the Minnesota Twins, he was able to get four hits and two runs while only getting struck out once in over 12 at bats.

Meanwhile, Giants’ Brandon Crawford has the best stat line (.750/ .750/ 1.00) and has a 1.750 OPS against the Athletics’ right-handed pitcher. On their first game against the Dodgers last July 28 this season, he was able to get a hit and two runs while getting struck out once in over four at bats.
San Francisco’s batters have a .345/ .367/ .414 stat line and a .780 OPS against Graveman. Meanwhile, this will be the first time the Oakland batters will play against Blach. Graveman might feel rusty after missing more than two months on the mound. Plus, he has a bad record playing on the road.
