The Chicago White Sox won, 3-2, against the Houston Astros at Guaranteed Rate Field today; this ended their three-game series with a sweep in favor of the White Sox.
The Astros were leading 2-0 until the bottom of the 6th when the White Sox got their first run from Yolmer Sanchez. White Sox’s Yoan Moncanda tied the scores after he had a homer in the 9th inning; he broke their two runs apiece after hitting a single in the bottom of the 11th.
The White Sox had a total of six consecutive losses from the Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox before their series with the Astros began.
Despite sweeping American League’s best team, the White Sox remain on the bottom of AL’s list.
The Chicago White Sox will be facing the Kansas City Royals this August 12 at Guaranteed Rate Field. Chicago slated James Shield (2-4, 6.09 ERA) on the mound to start against Royals’ Ian Kennedy (4-8, 4.83 ERA).
